Unfortunately, we have been advised that there is a scam text being sent to NHS staff, supposedly from HMRC. It is offering staff a COVID-19 goodwill gesture payment of around £258.00.
Please note that this is a scam and you should not take any of the action requested.
As a rule, HMRC would not normally contact taxpayers about tax repayments via text or email so please ignore any similar requests going forward too.
If you are uncertain about any similar correspondence you might receive going forward, please do let us know and we can investigate further and advise accordingly.
