Michael Dawe

Chairman of the Portsmouth Royal Marine Club and retired Chartered Accountant

After a career as a partner in a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants, Mike has spent much of his retirement helping various charities and not-for-profit organisations, including those in a variety of activities such as sport, heritage, education, the arts, community organisations and the support of service veterans. He has considerable experience of being a Trustee and is currently chairman of the Portsmouth Royal Marine Club, as well as a trustee of Veterans Outreach Support.

Ethan Kuhn is a director of Fundraising Consultants Ltd (FCL), a consultancy supporting the charity sector since 2010. FCL provides fundraising support to organisations in the UK and overseas, offering audit services, strategy development, advisory and interim support in grant writing, corporate fundraising, legacies, and individual giving. FCL’s work spans the third sector – education, healthcare, youth services, social causes, and more- partnering with charities of all sizes to strengthen their fundraising capacity.

Stuart Mackie

Director at Morris Crocker Accountants

As a director of our charities team, Stuart is responsible for ensuring charities are run efficiently, both from a systems and from a tax perspective, and for ensuring they are fully compliant with current regulations and accounting standards.

Stuart is a chartered accountant and joined Morris Crocker in 2013 from a specialist not-for-profit London firm. He has gained many insights from his role at board level for charity clients by attending meetings and advising on financial matters.

Paul Underwood

Director at Morris Crocker Accountants

Paul has over 20 years’ experience of acting for a diverse range of charities and has a particular interest in the effect of VAT and taxation on the charitable sector.

As well as audit and compliance work, Paul also carries out Internal Examinations. He is a member of the Audit Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and of the Charity & Voluntary Sector Group and currently acts as the treasurer for a local non-profit organisation.
