There are two options open to individuals looking to start their accountancy career with Morris Crocker:
 
Graduates
The training programme for graduates with an accountancy or finance-related degree is a minimum of three years.  During that time they will undertake workplace training whilst studying for their chartered or certified accountancy exams, equivalent to a level 7 qualification. Graduates without a related degree will be considered but should expect a longer training period of between four to five years depending on their exemptions.
 
Apprentices
Our apprenticeship scheme is open to those who have already achieved a minimum of 5 GCSEs, grade A - C including maths and English, and will have, or expect to have, 2 A Levels grade A  - C.  Apprentices  will study for the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) exams.  This typically takes two to three years to complete after which there can be the opportunity to study for the Chartered or Certified accountancy exams.
 
Experienced Professionals
We  also recruit  experienced accountants, bookkeepers, payroll administrators and support staff on an ad hoc basis 

 

Current Vacancies

Semi-Senior Accountant within our Specialist Healthcare team.

Key job roles will include:

  • Preparation of accounts  for medical partnerships, sole traders, other partnerships and limited companies together with professional expenses claims
  • Assistance on individual, partnership and corporate tax computations
  • Potential for management accounts work
  • Liaising with both third parties and clients direct and dealing with client queries
  • Working on site with clients
  • Reporting directly to a Senior Manager
  • Assist, train and delegate work to junior staff
  • Opportunity for career progression

    Experience:

  • AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA qualified or QBE
  • Minimum 3 years working in practice
  • Experience with IRIS accounts production preferable, as well as Xero and Quickbooks Online
  • Good all round understanding of the Microsoft office suites, especially excel

Graduate Accounts Trainee

Key job roles will include:

  • Preparation of accounts  for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Assistance on individual, partnership and corporate tax computations
  • Online bookkeeping and payroll
  • Opportunity for career progression

    Entry requirements:

  • 2:1 degree or above
  • Minimum of 300 UCAS (old tariff) or 120 UCAS (new tariff) points or equivalents
  • GCSE English Language and Maths grade B or above
  • Good all round understanding of the Microsoft office suites, especially excel
