Morris Crocker Annual Seminar for Charities - 21 May 2019

Our free annual finance seminar for charities is held each May at the Solent Hotel in Whiteley, nr Fareham.  Its purpose is to update and inform charity trustees and staff on the latest accounting, governance and legal matters to help them in their role.

This year we are delighted that James Noble from New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) and Suzie Simmons from Naomi House and member of the Institute of Fundraising (Central South) will be our guest speakers. James will be looking at what is the best approach for charity impact measurement and Suzie will be discussing why good fundraising practice is not an option.
 
Stuart Mackie from Morris Crocker will be answering your essential charity tax and accounting questions from his own client casebook and Paul Underwood will provide an update of the latest legal, tax and accounting issues of interest to charities, and of course, Brexit.

Paul Underwood, Director

Paul has worked with charities for over 15 years.  As well as audit and compliance work, he carries out Internal Examinations and has a particular interest in the effect of VAT and taxation on the charitable sector.  Paul is treasurer of a not-for-profit organisation and is a member of the ICAEW Audit Faculty and the Charity & Voluntary Sector Group.

Stuart Mackie, Senior Manager

Stuart joined Morris Crocker in 2013 from a specialist not-for-profit London firm where he qualified as a chartered accountant.  His expertise is in generating ideas to make sure charities are run efficiently and are compliant with the latest accounting standards.  Stuart currently acts as financial adviser to two not-for-profit clients.
