The Chancellor, Sajid Javid, has announced that the annual fiscal Budget will take place on 6th November. He said the Budget would detail the Government's plans to "shape the economy for the future".
If Britain leaves the EU without a deal on 31st October, Mr Javid said the Budget would be held a few week later and the government would outline its apporach to supporting the economy and business.
If, on the otherhand, the UK leaves with a deal, the Budget would go ahead on 6th November and is expected to showcase the government's pre-election pledges including investment in infrastructure and tax changes.
There are expectations that the Chancellor could relax the government's borrowing rules to give him more spending power.
