HMRC are writing to VAT-registered businesses in Great Britain trading with the EU and/or the rest of world about new trade arrangements with the EU from 1 January 2021. They explain what businesses need to do to prepare for new processes for moving goods between Great Britain and the EU from 1 January 2021, including:
The letters provide details on how the UK's import process will be introduced in stages during 2021. The government says these action will not change regardless of the outcome of its negotiations with the EU. Businesses can keep up to date with the changes by registering for HMRC's email updates.
