Morris Crocker Chartered Accountants - Established 1890
From a small office just south of Guildhall Square in Portsmouth, Mr Howard Bartlett Morris set up his accountancy and auditing business in December 1890. He was joined in 1912 by Mr William Henry Crocker. The two formed a partnership which still bears their names today.
Despite economic peaks and troughs and two world wars, Morris Crocker established itself as a highly trusted and reliable firm of accountants in the Portsmouth area. Over the years many well known local businesses have called upon our services and some have been with the firm a very long time. It is largely thanks to their word-of-mouth recommendations and our own belief in building and developing long-term relationships that the firm continues to thrive.
In 2013 the partnership converted to a limited company to ensure our progression and provision of continually evolving services. Morris Crocker remains independently-owned and managed. As many local accountancy firms merge or get taken over to become part of larger national or even international firms, we remain true to our roots and continue to provide personal and comprehensive accountancy and tax services to local businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organisations.
Attributable to the success of Morris Crocker is of course our staff. Many of our 70 dedicated and talented staff were attracted by the firm's enviable staff training programme, including a flourishing apprenticeship scheme, and on qualifying have progressed to a more senior level. Attracting the brightest and best staff will provide an unprecedented service for clients and ensure our continued success in the marketplace.
And of course none of this would have been possible without the continued loyalty and support of our clients.
