Specialist Charity Accountants & Not for Profit Organisation Advisers
If you’re a charity or not-for-profit organisation, we’re ideally placed to look after your financial interests. Why? Because, we are both large enough to offer the specialist expertise and services this sector demands, yet small enough to give you a high degree of partner involvement.
Currently, we are a valued adviser to over 100 charities and not-for-profit organisations. These include professional institutions and associations, religious bodies, grant making trusts and foundations, education, youth and arts organisations, and welfare, environment and healthcare charities. Our client base ranges across the whole of the south coast, from Bournemouth to Brighton, and we are ideally situated to advise London based charities.
We understand the pressure to maximise funds and make the most of every fundraising opportunity. Led by partner, Richard Perry with over 25 years’ experience and senior manager, Gavin Whitter, the team provides the strategic advice you need to achieve your organisation’s objectives. Both are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Special Interest Group for Charities and regularly attend the Institute’s relevant conferences.
As well as core audit and accountancy services, we can advise on a range of other issues including governance, risk management strategies and internal control procedures. This will make it easier for you to comply with SORP (Statements of Recommended Practice), and help you plan and manage your operations better. We also ensure all our clients are sent regular newsletters, detailing current topics and changes affecting the sector. If you would like to receive our regular newsletter, please email us here to sign up.
If you would like any further details on any of the above, or have any other questions, please contact us here or email our specialist charity accountants team on Charities.
Morris Crocker Annual Seminar for Charities 2011
We would like to thank everyone who attended our tenth seminar for charities last night at the Solent Hotel, Whiteley. It was good to see so many familiar faces amongst the audience and to welcome new ones.
The following are from a selection of comments received from the seminar:
A very well organised, useful and well-presented seminar
As always, a very interesting seminar
Always welcome comment and guidance particularly with the enormous changes which are occurring. Keep up the good work
A first class evening – relevant and topical
Stimulating and informative – please continue
Our guest speaker this year was former chief executive of the Charity Commission and current editor of Charity Finance magazine, Andrew Hind CB. Andrew’s enlightening talk about the role of charities in the Big Society was very well received and tied in superbly with the other presentations given by members of the Morris Crocker Charities Team.
These included an update on financial reporting and tax issues, an explanation of the term ‘social enterprise’ and advice on IT security and cost saving tips.
Afterwards delegates were invited to stay for drinks and sandwiches while they chatted to the speakers and networked with other charitable organisations. Anniversary cupcakes were also served to mark the occasion of this being our tenth seminar.
