Doctors

The constantly changing nature of the NHS means there are many complex issues and challenges facing doctors.  At Morris Crocker we are in an excellent position to help you manage these, take advantage of any tax breaks and comply with new legislation.

The well publicised changes following the formation of CCGs and the retirement of PCTs present numerous opportunities as well as threats.  We specialise in maximising the income of GPs whatever the financial environment.

Our experience as specialist medical accountants for GPs, consultants, locums and other healthcare professionals spans 35 years.  Today, we work with over 120 medical practices in London and the south of England, providing them with financial, accountancy, taxation and advisory services tailored to meet their specific needs.

Morris Crocker is a founder member of the Specialist Medical Accountancy Services (SMAS) Group.  This is a national network of accountancy firms providing specialist financial, accountancy, superannuation and taxation advice to over 400 doctors' practices.  From this large base we regularly produce, and make available to our clients, statistical information and averages.  We can also use this to benchmark individual practices on their strengths and weaknesses.

Our specialist medical group is led by director Pete Farrier and client director Karen Flowers.  Together they oversee a dedicated team of 20 staff, comprising qualified accountants and tax managers with a wide range of experience in the financial affairs of doctors.

This includes the repercussions of partnership changes where we can guide you through the whole process, from raising initial capital and refinancing surgeries to assessing the financial effect of a partner joining or retiring.  We have strong links with the healthcare specialists of leading banks as well as specialist solicitors.

We are increasingly involved with forming specialist companies and LLPs in order to provide non-core contract services.  Federations and mergers are becoming increasingly topical.  This is particularly relevant today with competition from large corporates, increased superannuation costs and the challenging economic environment.  We can advise you on the options available with their potential tax and superannuation savings.  The full implications of the Five Year Forward View have yet to be faced; we will be updating you on the changes that will inevitably follow.

What our clients say...

"I have moved my last two GP practices over to Morris Crocker Accountants, and have been delighted with the level of knowledge, support and help that we have always received from their GP Team.  They have helped us most recently in a complex matter and have made sense of a very difficult couple of financial years for us.  The entire team are approachable, pro-active and endlessly patient and service is always delivered with a smile and a sense of humour!   I could not wish for better service.” - Hillary, practice manager
