The client approached Morris Crocker in 2005 with a view to outsourcing the company’s payroll function. At that time they had 30 staff on their payroll but the company was expanding fast and growing its workforce. The company had already chosen to outsource its payroll to handle the complex calculations, payslips and P11d’s (expense claim forms) but was now looking for a more local solution to provide better accessibility.
Our key aim for this client and indeed for all our payroll clients is to be a virtual extension of their HR department. A friendly service that provides one-to-one timely reporting and support to resolve technical issues and help with key legislative changes such as Real Time Information and, above all, consistent accuracy. In addition clients also have the reassurance and back up afforded by outsourcing should any of their own finance staff be away.
Morris Crocker also played a significant role in recently helping the client implement its workplace pension scheme to meet its Auto Enrolment obligation.
Today, the company has around 180 employees on its payroll. The flexibility of our in house payroll to scale up to accommodate this many without losing any of the personal service and efficiency has ensured our continued relationship with the client.
Commenting on our service, their finance manager remarked: “We have been fortunate to have Morris Crocker supporting our internal payroll administration for over 10 years. All members of staff we have dealt with at Morris Crocker have been efficient, knowledgeable and polite and have provided an excellent payroll service to us."
We have removed the client's name from this case study to protect their identity.
